 NEET Counseling 2017- Schedule, Fee, Procedure & Dates

 

As per the amended regulation in 2016, the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentists Act-1948 NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2017 [NEET(UG)-2017] will be regulated by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Hence, for the admission MBBS/BDS Courses in India, in their respective colleges go parallel with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. This test (NEET -UG) replaced the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves in 2013. In this scenario, the only exception for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Pondicherry.

 

The NEET counseling will be governed by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). MCC is constituted by the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. 15% of An All India Quota seats conduct online counseling for MBBS and BDS courses. Hence, only the 15%, who fall under the merit list will be eligible to attend the counseling session of NEET 2017. Thereafter as per the rank secured and choices exercised at the time of counseling the candidates are allotted the seats.

The counseling procedure is standardized in three major rounds.

Online registration: Interested candidates enroll or register themselves. If candidates don't register, you don't further proceed in admission criteria, a unique USER ID & PASSWORD in registered email Id & mobile number so that the candidates further proceed for admission.

 

Choice Filling & Locking: In this process the candidates need to choose medical/dental colleges & courses as per their choice. Post selection of the course they need to “Save” button & lock their choices. Locking is crucial!

 

Result Declaration: Based on the candidate's rank and preferred choice of college, an or email sent informing them about their course or college.

 

Reporting to the Allotted College: Once the result is out the candidates are expected to inform the respective colleges and confirm their seat by paying the fee. If failed, to action this available seat is given to the next candidate.

 

Continuously, talking about the fee for NEET, there is no examination fees in NEET. Withal, a payment of application needs to be done. The application fee of NEET 2017 is Rs.1400 for all General and OBC Category applicants and Rs.750 for all SC/ST Category applicants.
